The Reason for the Season

IT’A CHRISTMAS TIME, LET’S LOVE ONE ANOTHER!!!!! God loves us so much, so this season, let’s remember to glorify Him by loving one another as He loves us. As Bob Goff says, “put simply; love does.” God created a love of sacrifice, it’s costly. We must be present with a person to love them fully & deeply. At some points we may have to give up something we see as necessary in order to fulfill the life of love that God wants us to live. This season especially, we should be glorifying Him in everything we do. After all, he is the reason for the season.

By loving one another in a Godly way, we are portraying a life of agape. We are showing people what a life with God looks like, what a life of salvation looks like. God sent his one and only son down to us, born unto a virgin mother, to then become our Lord and Savior further down the road. I mean wow. What a cool guy. There’s no one better suited to be loved and glorified and honored every season, but even more so around the Christmas season.

Godly love, agape, is something we will never truly be able to give, but we can try our best. We can love unconditionally, deeply, fully. We can love everyone, no matter their background, relationships, family life, etc. We can love as God loves, as best we can. God’s love for us is one of entirety. He loves everything about us, “He sees the depths of our hearts, yet he loves us the same,” He is such an amazing God. This season, we can practice getting closer and closer to achieving godly love.

Within all of the stress & chaos that comes along with the Christmas season, let us allow ourselves to be immersed in His love and completely surrounded by love for one another. Allow all that you do this season to glorify God. Happy Holidays, friends.

love always, Abby.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13
